Before paddling on the course you will need to attend a short paddling assessment session
Your safety, and the safety of other water users, is important to us. There's no minimum age requirement, but as our courses range between Grade 3 and Grade 4, paddlers need to already have white water/moving water paddling experience and complete a short competency assessment prior to paddling at Lee Valley White Water Centre to demonstrate a competency level of BCU 3* standard. This will include an assessment on our flat water pool and Legacy Loop, followed by the Olympic Standard Competition Course for more experienced paddlers.

Assessments are available on Saturdays and Sundays between 10am and 2pm.
On successful completion of this short assessment you’ll become a member of the centre and will be free to enjoy the remainder of this one hour session in the appropriate paddling area and book future paddling sessions at your convenience.
